SpartaQuiz ("we," "us," "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of everyone who uses our platform — especially students. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over your information.

SpartaQuiz is designed to be privacy-first. We do not sell student data. We do not advertise to students. We do not use student data to train our own AI models. Our underlying hosting platform's data-use terms are being confirmed and will be disclosed here once verified.

Teacher & Parent Accounts

Name, email address, and account credentials
School or organization name (optional)
Subscription and billing information (processed by a third-party payment provider)
Platform usage data (quizzes created, assignments issued)

Student Accounts

Sparta alias and username
Class and grade information provided by the teacher
Activity data: quiz attempts, writing drafts, math practice sessions
AI interaction logs used only to provide the service

New student account creation does not require a student's legal name. We do not collect student email addresses, phone numbers, photos, or location data through the student account workflow.

3. How We Use Information

To provide and operate the SpartaQuiz platform
To generate AI-assisted feedback and instructional content
To generate progress reports for teachers and parents
To improve the performance and reliability of the Platform
To communicate service updates, billing notices, and support

We never use student data for advertising, behavioral profiling, or AI model training.

4. Student Privacy

SpartaQuiz is designed with student safety as a core requirement:

Students cannot independently create accounts
Student accounts are created by teachers or parents
Student data is never sold or shared with third-party advertisers
Student activity is only visible to their assigned teacher and linked parent
AI feedback is generated using the student's own content and the assignment context — no cross-student profiling occurs
Alias-based accounts are the default student identity; legal names are not required for new student account creation

5. COPPA Compliance

SpartaQuiz does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental or school consent. Student accounts are created and controlled by teachers or parents. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

6. FERPA Alignment

For school-managed accounts, SpartaQuiz operates as a "school official" under FERPA, meaning we use education records only for the purpose of providing the service. See our FERPA & School Use page for full details.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We may share data with:

Service providers: vendors who help us operate the Platform (hosting, payment processing, email delivery) under strict data processing agreements
Legal requirements: when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights or safety of our users

All third-party service providers are prohibited from using your data for any purpose other than providing services to SpartaQuiz.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain account data as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time. Teachers may delete individual student accounts and associated data from within the Platform. Student data is deleted within 30 days of account deletion requests.

9. Security

We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted data transmission (TLS), hashed passwords, access controls, and role-based permissions. No system is 100% secure, but we are committed to protecting your data.

10. Your Rights
